A space-saving, sustainable child carrier built on the Urban Arrow Cargo Large — adapting its rigid cargo frame into a family sharing bike for operators who need smart storage without compromise. Made from a recycled PP-foam sheet: 40% recycled content, anti-slip finish, 10mm thick.
The project started from a specific idea: take the Urban Arrow Cargo Large — chosen for its rigid, durable cargo frame — and adapt it into a family sharing bike for operators. Rather than designing a consumer family bike from scratch, the goal was to convert a proven, hard-wearing platform that fleets already trust.
For a shared-mobility operator, storage and logistics matter as much as the ride. The carrier is designed to flat-pack — shipping and storing flat, then assembling quickly — which keeps warehousing efficient and distribution costs down across a fleet.
The carrier is built from a recycled polypropylene foam sheet — 40% recycled content, with an anti-slip finish and 10mm thickness. It's light, durable, water-resistant, and warm to the touch — well suited to a product that children sit in and that lives outdoors in all weather.
Choosing a recycled material wasn't a marketing decision. It's consistent with how I approach every project: the most sustainable product is one that lasts, uses less virgin material, and can be maintained rather than replaced.
An optional canopy frame extends the carrier for weather protection — turning a fair-weather accessory into something usable year-round.
